Awareness Through Movement w/Phillippa Clarke

A restorative movement class based on Feldenkrais, a universal method for improving life through better movement, sensation, posture and breathing with a focus on feet. If you enjoy movement and meditation, this is the workshop for you! These lessons help reduce muscular tension and quieten the nervous system. Bring a soft blanket to lie on as most of the workshop is done on the floor to minimize the effects of gravity. Verbal instructions guide you to relax and to perform simple movements. The sequence evolves by paying attention to how the movement is done and how it relates to other parts of your body by focusing on their ease, flow and comfort. Gradually the different parts are pieced together into a gentle and coordinated sequence all generated by your expanded self-awareness.
