Volunteers

Thank you to all past volunteers for your wonderful support, this festival could not survive without its enthusiastic volunteers.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering is your opportunity to contribute to the success of one of Australia's leading festivals. Apart from the satisfaction that comes from being part of a great team, volunteering also gives you an opportunity to learn new skills whilst fostering a vibrant festival community.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone with a smile and good sense of humor, plus a commitment to getting the job done. Volunteers are an integral part of the festival – in fact, without volunteers there'd be no festival!

Each year, over 200 wonderful individuals work in all areas of the festival, including:

  • Site setup and break down
  • Entry / gate team
  • Venue management and MC's
  • Festival shop
  • Resource recovery and waste management
  • Table clearing
  • Artist services and hospitality
  • Youth and children's festival
  • Raffle ticket selling

See Volunteer Job Descriptions for more detailed list and information.

Volunteer Camping

  • Volunteers are able to purchase camping in the conveniently located Kingsley Park camping area, which is close to the festival precinct and all amenities. You may, of course, purchase camping with friends and/or family in other camping areas.
  • To purchase your festival weekend entry and camping ticket in Kingsley Park you must first complete the online volunteer registration form (or as a previous volunteer, have re-registered to Terry McLaughlin by email). This enables our office staff to confirm you as a volunteer and is the only way you will be able to purchase camping in the Kingsley Park Volunteer camp area. Once ticket sales open in January, you can call the office on 9246 3311 to purchase your festival weekend camping ticket. Do not purchase your entry ticket online separately!
  • One car per camping site – only one car per campsite in the campground. Other cars must be parked in the front car park. For the comfort of others, please do not drive around the campgrounds or festival precinct once you have set up your campsite.
