Promotion

Ever fancied yourself as a publicist? Colleen Dixon, our Promotions Co-ordinator requires one or more  persons to assist her with brochure distribution and other
areas of publicity from now through to Festival time. It's a great way to get some volunteer time out of the way before the festival.

Site Setup and Bump Out with Site Manager

  • Lay and peg down shade cloth in marquees
  • Mark aisles and set out chairs
  • Arrange trestle tables and other equipment
  • Clear gum nuts from some areas if required
  • Work as part of a team
  • Stack and count chairs
  • Take up shade cloth from various venues
  • Remove site decorations, signage
  • Collect rubbish from the site
  • Clean and store sponsor signs
  • Re-set chairs in main marquees for 3 hours each morning

Hours of Operation: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8.00 am – 5.00 pm, Friday 7.30 am – 10.30 am, Saturday 7.30 am – 10.30 am, Sunday 7.30 am – 10.30 am  & 6.00 pm – 11.00 pm, Monday 7.30 am – 3.30 pm

Site Decoration

  • Remove and transport banners, signage, decorations from the onsite store
  • Installation on site

Youth Festival

For young people or people young at heart!  Lend a hand with set up or pack up of the Youthopia venues, help out in the creative tent or even run a short craft activity of your own.

Children’s Festival

  • Assist with craft workshops
  • Face painting
  • Clearing up at end of each day
  • Set up and break down of Kids Craft Club
  • Run a workshop if you have the desire and skills

Hours of Operation: Thursday 12.00 – 5.00,  Friday, Saturday & Sunday 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday 8.30 am – 12.00.

Waste Collection & Management

  • Work in teams emptying Sulo bins and delivering to large skips
  • Work in 10-15 minute rounds every hour – so there’s time to watch acts
  • Wearing boots is a good idea (steel capped not required), gloves provided

Hours of Operation: Thursday 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm, Friday 8:00 am to 2.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 8 pm, Saturday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm & 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 8:00pm.

Raffle Ticket Selling

If you enjoy meeting and chatting to others this job is lots of fun and rewarding! Help us sell 2000 tickets  - a fabulous Scott Wise guitar is first prize!!

  • Teams of 2 preferred
  • Sell tickets at venues, catering areas, camping areas – breakfast time is best!

Hours of Operation: Any time from Thursday lunch time to 5.00 pm Sunday unless tickets are sold out.

Ticket Office

  • Enjoy working with the public
  • Assist with selling raffle tickets
  • Distribute programs
  • Issue wristbands

Hours of Operation: Thursday 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am to 9:00 pm & Sunday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Entry/Gate Team

  • Work in teams issue wristbands to pre-paid ticket holders
  • Distribute programs
  • Suits people with an unflappable disposition and a welcoming smile

Hours of Operation: Thursday,  Friday 8:00 am to 9:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

Festival Shop

  • Works in teams, three and four hour shifts
  • Assisting sales of merchandise and CDs
  • Assist with setup and breakdown each day

Hours of Operation: Thursday, 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Friday, Saturday 9:00 am to 12.00 am & Sunday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm

Festival Headquarters (HQ)

  • Site knowledge is an advantage
  • Assist with lost persons, lost property recording
  • Assist with induction of volunteers and their enquiries

Hours of Operation: Thursday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Friday, Saturday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm & Sunday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

Venue Managing

Venue Managers ensure the smooth running of all the venues in the festival.  They report to the Production Coordinator and their duties include

  • Ensure acts start and finish on time.
  • Liaise between artists, comperes, sound crew, and other festival staff.
  • Ensure the venues and backstage areas are tidy and safe.
  • Coordinate activities in the venue in case of any emergencies.

Two way-radios enable them to keep in contact with the Production Coordinator and  Festival HQ (training is provided).

Anyone working with in the Kids or Youth venues is required to sign a declaration before being allowed to work there.

Artist Services

  • Work in teams in the venue of Artists Central as a welcome area for performers
  • Coordinate lockup of artists instruments
  • Instrument transport team. Current driver’s licence and a reasonable level of fitness required
  • Artist massage bookings
  • Upkeep of minor catering within the AC venue
  • Re-stock all festival green rooms with water and fruit
  • Assist with transport of artists and instruments to/from Perth Airport and other locations around Perth

Two-way radios enable Artist Services volunteers to keep in contact with the Artist Services Coordinator, the Instrument Transport team and  Festival HQ (training is provided).

Hours of Operation: Thursday 12:00pm to 1:00 am, Friday 8.00 am to 1.00 am, Saturday 8:00 am to 1:00 am,  Sunday 8:00 am to 11:00 pm & Monday 9.00 am to 12.00 noon.

Hospitality

  • Assist with distribution of linen and welcome packs into Artist accommodation
  • Removal and packing of linen and welcome packs from Artist accommodation
  • Assist in Artist Central where necessary

Hours of operation: Thursday 8.00 am –12.00 midday, Monday 8.00 am – 12.00 midday

Table Clearing (Wine Bar, Tavern)

  • Two person teams to clear and wipe Wine Bar and Tavern tables
  • Tidy and straighten chairs at appropriate times, esp at end of night

Hours of Operation: Thursday 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Friday 11:30 am to 11:00 pm, Saturday 11:30 am to 11:00 pm & Sunday 11:00 am to 6:00 pm

Festival Markets Infrastructure

  • Market site demarcation & preparation - placement of site markers
  • Checking stall holders campsites are clearly marked
  • Allocation of tables/chairs, signage
  • Meet and greet market vendors, confirming documentation, vehicle passes etc
  • Assist vendors in setting up stalls to ensure they are in correct position
  • Ensuring that stall conforms to Festival specifications & power hook up
  • Advising vendors of allocated parking area and orientation of the Festival site
  • Direct vendors to their camping sites
  • Pick up any rubbish surrounding festival markets area
  • Ensure all sites have requisite number of chairs/tables each morning

In particular, a person is required to fill the Core Volunteer role supporting the Coordinator of this area.
