Camping
This year campsites are being sold online by Fairbridge Festival, not Fairbridge Village. You must buy at least one weekend entry ticket for an adult with each campsite, as further explained on the camping and accommodation page. The most efficient way to purchase your tickets and camping is online on a first come first served basis. For those without online access there will be a two week period to send in mail orders with campsites, after which a campsite ballot will be held if demand exceeds supply. For both on-line and mail orders there is provision to be placed on a wait-list if you miss out.
Ticketing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
-
I do not have a credit card or cheque book. How do I purchase tickets?
Bank cheques are one alternative, but can be expensive. We suggest purchasing a Money Order from the Post Office. Money Orders currently cost $3 regardless of value. You can place your order online, pick the cheque alternative for payment and post the Money Order to us. Please remember to include your online order number. Another idea is to ask a friend with a credit card or cheque book to order your tickets and you pay them with your cash.
-
Is a family ticket cheaper than two adult concessions and two children?
Yes, we make sure it is when setting the prices.
-
Do those on a family ticket need to be all in one family?
No, any two adults and any two children between 6 and 17 can use a family ticket. For example grandparents may team up with their grandchildren, or a Mum, Dad or child can bring a friend.
-
All people on our family ticket will not arrive at the same time. How do we get in?
Although we call it a family ticket, we actually issue four tickets. If you plan to arrive separately just make sure the adults have the adult tickets and the young people the youth/child tickets. They will be clearly marked so you can tell the difference.
-
Can I bring my pet?
Fairbridge Village does not allow pets, no matter how small or quiet.
-
But we have seen a dog at one of the cottages.
Yes, a long standing resident at Fairbridge Village has been allowed to keep a dog she had before the rule was introduced.
-
Can I take my guide dog to the Festival?
Yes, but be aware that the ground can be rough, with lots of marri trees dropping large gum nuts, and some slippery gravel slopes. Also there are likely to be loud and unexpected noises from street entertainers as well as loud music at some of the venues.
-
What age qualifies for a child ticket?
A child is between the age of 6 and 13 years. Under 6 is free.
-
What age qualifies for a youth ticket?
A youth is between the age of 14 and 17 years.
-
Does an 18 year old who is still a student qualify for a youth ticket?
No, but a student card holder qualifies for an adult concession price.
-
At what date is my age qualification determined?
The day on which you arrive at the festival is the date on which your age qualification is determined, not the date of ticket purchase.
-
What qualifies me for an adult concession?
We accept Health Care Cards (but not Commonwealth Senior Health Cards), Pensioner Concession Cards (Centrelink & Veterans’ Affairs) and tertiary Student Cards. We ask that you quote your card number when ordering your tickets, and to have your card ready to show on entry.
-
Does a National Seniors Card or State Government Senior’s Card qualify me for an adult concession?
No, sorry, National Seniors is a club which anyone over 50 years old can join. A State Senior’s Card is available to anyone over 60 (in WA at least). We try to limit concessions to those with some evidence of reduced income.
-
When can I expect to get my tickets?
We try to get tickets to you within ten days of receipt of order. Early in the booking period we find this easy but we get about 40% of our ticket bookings in a last week rush, which can take us ten days to clear. For camping bookings from 2008 we expect the rush as soon as bookings open, and for mail orders we have allowed two weeks to get orders in before a ballot (if necessary) so your tickets for camping may take a little longer than two weeks.
-
Why do pre-festival sales close a number of weeks before the festival?
So we have time to process the last week’s rush of orders and post them to reach you before the festival (see previous question). Usually the festival is a week after Easter, so we have to allow for extended postal delivery times, particularly to country addresses.
-
Why can’t I buy tickets at gate prices just before the Festival?
We are still clearing up the rush of the last orders at pre-festival prices and don’t want to delay these by accepting more orders. We also need time for them to reach you in the post.
-
Can I buy my tickets in person and/or with cash?
Yes you can but call our earlybird ticketing centre on 08 9332 0000 to make arrangements. Alternatively try purchasing a Money Order from the Post Office. You can then place your order online, picking the cheque alternative for payment and posting the Money Order to us. In this case remember to tell us the online order number. Alternatively you can get a Mail Order Form by calling the above number, or our general enquiries number 08 9246 3311.
-
Can I drive my car to the campsite?
There is only room for one car per campsite. If you have two cars you will have to leave one of them in the car park (paddock) outside the gates.
-
Will there be EFTPOS facilities, including credit card at the gate?
Yes, the festival has EFTPOS facilities for payments at the Ticket Office and the Festival Shop, but not cash out. Fairbridge Village Office offers cash out facilities, maximum $200, with a service fee of $2 per transaction.
-
Is our internet credit card payment system secure?
We have adopted all the latest security recommendations and believe our system meets current best practice. In 2006, the first year of internet orders, we processed more than 700 credit card orders, about 45% of all the orders we received. In 2007 we processed 907 internet credit card orders, more than 65% of orders. No-one has reported any problems with their credit card security. Indeed you may view the internet as more secure than sending us your details in the post since we in the Earlybird Ticket Centre cannot see the full credit card details for internet orders. Your credit card details are only used to charge your credit card immediately when placing your order, and are discarded after this occurs.
-
I am a carer accompanying a person with special needs. Do I need to pay?
Please ring us to discuss your circumstances. We will usually arrange a complimentary ticket for a carer in this situation. We accept Companion Cards.
-
Will tickets be available at the gate?
Yes for the current year. In recent years about one third of our customers have bought their ticket at the gate. With continued growth in Festival attendance we expect that sometime in the future we will have to limit ticket sales in which case it is possible that all tickets might be sold in advance. The decision to limit attendance will be well advertised when the time comes.
