Our Organisation
Fairbridge Festival Inc is a member based, not-for-profit organisation. In general the membership is comprised of individuals who have a common love of acoustic music, dance, culture and festivals. It is managed by a Board that provides strategic stewardship of the Festival.
Our Objectives and Values
Fairbridge Festival is dedicated to promoting traditional, contemporary and multi-cultural folk music, dance and related arts with particular emphasis on the involvement of families.
We achieve this by:
- holding the festival at Fairbridge Village, an enclosed bush land site away from through-traffic;
- providing musicians, dancers and storytellers with an opportunity to perform, and to interact and collaborate with one another;
- providing a rich and diverse program of artists of the highest standard from seasoned professionals to new and emerging talent;
- having workshops to pass on skills;
- charging a reasonable price, including a choice of discounted family tickets;
- providing a stimulating cultural experience to all participants and visitors;
- encouraging the view that Western Australia is an interesting and culturally rewarding tourist destination; and
- providing space for local crafts people to display and sell their wares.
The values that guide the organisation are:
- A family activity
- A high quality event & service
- Encouragement of enthusiasm and inspiration amongst participants
- Honesty and respect
- A sense of community
- A sense of connection; people with people, people with music, people with the larger folk movement, people with the land
- Diverse artistic expression
- Creative exchange
- Opportunity to participate
- A safe venue
- A sense of humour
- Encouragement of a healthy lifestyle
We aim to inspire and delight our audiences from the young to the young at heart!
