April 17 - 19 2009

Can I buy tickets at the gate?
Yes - click here for ticket price info. Gates open noon on Friday 16, 8:30 am on Saturday and Sunday.

Can I pay by credit card? Is EFTPOS available?
You can pay for your ticket at the gate by credit card (major cards only), but EFTPOS is not available.

Can I come for the day? Or just for an evening?
Yes. You can buy a day ticket, which covers the whole day and evening. Cheaper session prices apply after 5pm.

Can I camp on site?
Yes, but you'll need to book with the village. Camping bookings opend on February 1 and always sell fast. Click the camping link for info on camping on site, and on other nearby alternatives.

Who is playing when?
All details on perfomance times are be posted on the program page.

Is there anything for kids? What about teenagers?
Lots - the festival is an ideal activity for the middle of school holidays. There is huge range of concerts, workshops and craft activities all weekend, and a dedicated youth venue. Click here for details of the Kids Program and Youth Program.

How do I get there?
Fairbridge Village is just north of the town of Pinjarra on the South West Highway, about an hour south of Perth. We recommend taking the Kwinana Freeway south to Mundijong Road, then left to the South West Highway, then right (south) if you are coming from Perth. The turnoff is well marked.

What kinds of music will I find?
Collectively we call it "folk", but you'll be amazed at the range and diversity: Gypsy Jazz, Celtic folk, acoustic blues, a cappella, contemporary folk and indie/acoustic acts, world/folk/jazz fusion, comedy, bush poetry, dance displays and workshops from Balkan to Clogging, lots of comedy, bluegrass, a whole new twist on the male voice choir... the list goes on...see the Artists page for a sampling.

What if it rains?
No big problem. All venues are under cover, and the program runs rain or shine. The only event which may suffer if it rains is the parade on Sunday afternoon, but it would take a big storm to stop even that.

What about food and drinks?
There is a wide range of healthy eating choices from over a dozen catering outlets, including vegetarian options. The Ale House and Wine Bar are our licensed venues, please don't bring alcohol on site.

Is there diasabled access?
Wheelchair access exists for toilets and most venues. Contact us early and we’ll do our best to arrange any special disability requirements.

Anything else I should know?
Parts of the festival site are a bit rough underfoot, we strongly recommend bringing a torch - plus of course a hat and sunscreen. All covered venues are strictly non smoking. Please no pets.

How may I attain enlightenment?
Through any of the following activities: getting down on the Dance Stage to reggae, sega, blues and Cajun grooves, shakin' Ooga Booga Sticks in the Samba Parade, being blown away by the virtuosity of Tony McManus or the silky vocals of Bob Fox or Sean Keane, singing in the Gospel Big Sing, or any one of a hundred other things at the Fairbridge Festival 2004 - be in it!
