Objectives

FolkWorld Inc is a member based, not-for-profit organisation. In general the membership is comprised of individuals who have a common love of acoustic music, dance, culture and festivals. The Board of Management provides strategic stewardship of FolkWorld Inc and its associated events. [more...]

History

Credit for starting the festival belongs to Max Klubal and Sally Grice back in 1992. At the time they were committee members for the WA Folk Federation, which was running a long-standing festival in the attractive country town of Toodyay, about 100km north east of Perth. [more..]

The village

Fairbridge Village (now nationally heritage listed) is a unique area consisting of rural land, timber cottages and a chapel dating back to the early 1900’s. Today Fairbridge Village runs a myriad of services and programs for young people. [more...]
