Do I need a ticket for my under 5 year old child?

0-4 year old children are free to enter and camp and no ticket is required, however a wristband will be issued for them on arrival at the Festival. See: Event Information – Ticket Sales for all details.

Do those on a family ticket need to be members of one family?

No, any two adults and any two children or youths between 5 and 17 can use a family ticket. For example grandparents may team up with their grandchildren, or a Mum, Dad or child can bring a friend.

All people on our family ticket will not arrive at the same time. How do we get in?

Our Terms and Conditions of entry state: “To enter using any of our Family tickets (discounted), all 4 members MUST arrive together”. However, in the unlikely event of a family member being unable to arrive at the same time, all four wristbands will be issued to the ticket holder for them to distribute.

This year children up to 5 years have free entry and camping. Ticket purchase is required for children 5-12 yrs.

What age qualifies for a youth ticket?

A youth is between the age of 13 and 17 years.

Does an 18 year old who is still a student qualify for a youth ticket?

No, but a student cardholder qualifies for an adult concession priced ticket.

At what date is my age qualification determined?

The day on which you arrive at the festival is the date on which your age qualification is determined, not the date of ticket purchase.

What qualifies me for an adult concession?

We accept Health Care Cards (but not Commonwealth Senior Health Cards), Pensioner Concession Cards (Centrelink and Veterans’ Affairs) and tertiary Student Cards. We ask that you have your card ready to show on entry.

Does a National Seniors Card or State Government Senior’s Card qualify me for an adult concession?

No, sorry, National Seniors is a club which anyone over 50 years old can join. A State Senior’s Card is available to anyone over 60 (in WA at least). We try to limit concessions to those with some evidence of reduced income.

When can I expect to get my tickets?

An e-ticket will be issued which you can print on your own printer as soon as they arrive by email or save and print them just before the festival.  Whatever makes it easier for you so you don’t forget your ticket/s.

Yes, at the gate prices.

Will camping be available at the gate?

Yes, at the gate this is sold on a per person/per night basis ($20) unless sold out prior to the start of the event.

Camping

See Tips for stress-free camping.

Where are the various camping areas located in relation to the Festival precinct?

See map on Site information for all areas and their “walking distance” to the precinct.

How will I know where to find my camping spot once inside the gate?

We have volunteer vehicle marshals along the roadways and entries to the various camping areas. Your ticket will indicate which area you have purchased.  There will also be Camping Monitors within each area to assist you further. Access ways will be designated and we ask that you comply.

Can I buy a campsite?

No, all camping is bought as part of a combined Festival Weekend with Camping ticket. There are no marked sites within each camping area.  When you arrive inside your chosen area, just find a spot that suits you and set-up your camp. Please be considerate of others and only use the space you need.

My friends / family already have Festival with Camping tickets. Can I just “bunk in” with them?

You can share a tent with anyone you like!  However, you must purchase a Festival Weekend with Camping Ticket as our camping is provided on a “per person pays” system. (See - Can I buy a campsite?)

Can I drive my car to the campsite?

There is only room for one car per family-sized group in the camping areas. If you have two cars you will need to leave one of them in the car park (paddock) outside the gate. If you are camping on the Oval there are limited parking bays adjacent. Once this is full, you will have to park your car outside the gate and carry your gear.

Can I camp with my friends?

Yes, as long as you have purchased a Festival Weekend with Camping ticket. It will make life easier if you try to arrive together but you can save camping spaces for your friends.  Bring along your friends tent/s and lay them out, next to yours, to create your own group camping space for the weekend.  Without tents to indicate the spot is taken, we will only allow you to “save” their space for a limited time.

Can I go into town to get extra provisions during the festival?

Yes, however, we encourage you to stock up with groceries before arriving or park outside the Festival precinct as a strict ‘limited vehicle movement’ policy is in place over the weekend which is for the safety of all patrons, especially families.  Certain space within Fields, Rivergrounds and Kingsley Park camping are designated ‘no vehicle movement (see below) between 8 pm Friday and mid-day Sunday of the festival. Other than incoming patrons who are camping, all vehicle movement is restricted after 4.00pm to festival crew and emergency vehicles only.

What is a ‘no vehicle movement’ area?

We have reserved some space within each camping area which will be designated ‘no vehicle movement’.  This is great for families, especially those with small children.  On arriving at your chosen camp area, you will be asked if you require this option and will be directed accordingly.  If choosing this option, you will not be allowed to move your vehicle between 8pm Friday and mid-day Sunday (with the exception of arriving campers late Friday and Saturday).

What if I forget some of my camping gear?

There will be a limited number of basic camping items for sale in the Merchandise Shop and volunteer Getaway Outdoors staff will be on site Friday to assist.

Can I purchase grocery items and ice on site?

Yes, the Fairbridge Village Café (south side of entry gate) sells those forgotten items and Gus’s Bar (previously The Tavern) sells ice.

Pets

Can I take my guide dog to the Festival?

Yes, but be aware that the ground can be rough, with lots of marri trees dropping large gum nuts, and some slippery gravel slopes. Also there are likely to be loud and unexpected noises from street entertainers as well as loud music at some of the venues.

Can I bring my pet?

Sorry, Fairbridge Village and the Festival organisers do not allow pets, no matter how small or quiet.

Companion cards

I am a carer accompanying a person with special needs. Do I need to pay?

We do accept Companion Cards. Please ring the office on 9246 3311 to discuss your circumstances.

Weather

What kind of weather can I expect?

You should check the Bureau of Meteorology before you set out as although we generally have good weather, being mid April, it can be quite warm with the possibility of some showers and wind.

What happens if it rains?

In the past 19 years, due to very heavy rain, we have only had to make venues changes once. You should be prepared and bring wet weather gear including rain jacket/poncho, umbrella and waterproof boots.

Other

Can I stay in a cottage?

Sorry, no. The cottages within the Festival Village are reserved for artists, Festival management and special needs groups. There is a range of off-site accommodation in Pinjarra/Mandurah.  See our website under Event information – Off-site Accommodation.

Who qualifies as a “responsible adult”?

All minors entering and attending the Fairbridge Festival and Fairbridge Village site must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult. A ‘responsible adult’ means a parent, step-parent, spouse, de facto partner, legal guardian or any other person in loco parentis to the minor. A person in loco parentis must be able to fulfill the normal functions of a parent concerning supervision of a minor(s). An older brother or sister or friend of the minor(s) is not necessarily considered a ‘responsible adult’.

What time do gates open?

Gates open at 10 am Friday.

Will there be EFTPOS facilities, including credit card at the gate?

Yes, the Festival has EFTPOS facilities for gate ticket purchases and in the Festival Shop, but not cash out. Fairbridge Village Office offers cash out facilities, maximum $200, with a service fee of $3 per transaction.

What does Smoke Free Festival mean?

All venues and thoroughfares within the Festival precinct are smoke free. The festival precinct is a designated area on the map in the centre of the Program Book (marked as shaded). This area includes all venues, catering and markets and the access ways in between.  In accordance with Fairbridge Village policy, smoking is not permitted inside the cottages or buildings.

Where will I find toilets and showers?

If you are camping, your Campsite Monitor will advise your closest location.  These are mostly grouped together to allow efficient servicing and water supply.  If you are not staying on site there are toilets located within the Festival precinct.  These are marked on the map inside your Program Book.  However, locations are subject to change due to unforeseen site conditions during the week of set up of the event.

Can I consume alcohol outside the licensed venues?

No, we offer 3 licensed venues and no alcohol is allowed to be consumed outside of these licensed areas in the Festival precinct.  Patrons are required to be responsible in their consumption of alcohol.

What food facilities are there?

There are several food vendors located within the Festival precinct offering a variety of options.  There are also basic food items available at the Fairbridge Village store.

Is there a festival lock-up where I can leave my valuables?

No sorry, the festival can’t take responsibility for your valuables; the best thing is to lock them in your car when you are away from your campsite or carry your cash and cards in a money belt.

Can I charge my phone or camera battery at the festival?

Yes, we offer this service at Headquarters for a $5 fee; you will receive a receipt at lodgment time.
